The tentative plan is to rent an apartment in Muizenburg near Capetown from around June 3 through June 10. Everyone can look for the best flight deal and arrive anytime during that period. We will pickup a rental car in capetown. While we are there we can climb table mountain, visit the cape of good hope nature preserve, sail to Robben Island, visit the wine country town of Stellenbosch and tour the city bowl.
On June 10 we drive along the garden route and stay for the night in Knysna.
On June 11 we will continue along the garden route to Port Elizabeth. The Tsitsikamma National Park looks pretty interesting and is along the way. We could stay for the night at Jeffrey's Bay known as the home of the perfect wave.
June 12 - Watch the Koreans and Greeks play soccer at Port Elizabeth.
June 13 - Visit Addo Elephant Park. Travel toward Johannesburg.
June 14 - Travel to some game park within a couple hour drive to Johannesburg.
June 15 - Safari or maybe drive around a game park.
June 16 - Safari or maybe a drive around Kruger Park would be really cool.
June 17 - See the Koreans play Argentina in Johannesburg.
June 18 - Watch the USA team play Slovenia in Johannesburg.
June 19 - Send Cori and Brent home so the real fun can begin.
June 20 -
June 21 - Drive to Durban. See the Drakensburg Mountains.
June 22 - See South Korea play Nigeria in Durban.
June 23 - Return to Johannesburg. Stop for a hike in the Royal Natal National Park.
June 24 - Return rental car and fly home.

Are we getting a rental car with a stick shift? I can drive one and I'm going to teach Aaron how to drive a stick by then too. They don't drive on the wrong side of the road, do they?
ReplyDeleteYeah, cars with manual transmissions are vastly more affordable, if you can call anything "affordable" during World Cup, but they DO drive on the wrong side of the road, unfortunately. Battlecat we are counting on you.
ReplyDeleteItinerario looks good. Big question seems to be how to handle the time in between Addo and our game in Jo'burg.
ReplyDeleteDrive to Kruger?
